Lehr stymies Coulee Region, Austin wins 4-1Riverside Sat, Mar 03, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Nicholas Lehr helped the Austin Bruins defeat the Coulee Region Chill, 4-1. Austin was led by Trevor Waldoch, who finished with one goal. Waldoch scored on the power play 11:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Austin. The Bruins had taken the advantage when Coulee Region's Eric Loasby got sent off for slashing. Charlie Adams picked up the assist. Austin's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Coulee Region power plays. Austin also had goals scored by AJ Reid, who had one and Jeremy Finger, who had two. In addition, Austin received assists from Christian Folin and Matt Hansen, who each chipped in one. The Chill put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.6 they average per game. Coulee Region was led by Cory Lushanko, who scored the team's only goal. Lushanko scored 12:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Loasby provided the assist. Lehr rejected 31 shots on goal for the Bruins. Austin totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. David Heflin recorded 25 saves for the Chill. Coulee Region ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
