North Iowa squeaks by Minnesota, 3-2

The game between the North Iowa Bulls and the Minnesota Flying Aces was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end North Iowa emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Bulls gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tyler Torkelson 18:36 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

North Iowa was sparked by Torkelson, who racked up one goal.

The Bulls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Minnesota power plays.

North Iowa also got points from Lucas Lindholm, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nick Marsh also scored for North Iowa. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Noah Anderson, who had two and Brenden Giffel and Andrew Pitts, who contributed one a piece.

Minnesota was helped by Liam Johnston, who registered one goal. Johnston scored 17:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota. Parker Tomczyk provided the assist. Minnesota additionally got points from Cote Dickerson, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Minnesota came via Stephen Langford, who had one.

North Iowa's Jackson Steltmann stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Bulls incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyler Muehler made 25 saves for the Flying Aces on 28 shots. Minnesota incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
