The Twin City Steel's Davis Madren scored 4:43 into overtime to beat the St. Louis Jr. Blues, 5-4 (OT). Twin City came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Steel fell behind 4-1 after a goal by St. Louis' Johnny Mueller at 4:12 in the second period. Twin City knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Madren at 15:13 in the third period. Madren was all over the ice for the Steel, as he finished with two goals in the win. Twin City's offense rang up 34 shots on the Jr. Blues' net. The Steel could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game. Others who scored for Twin City included Nicholas Coltrain, who had one and Kegan Storjohann, who had two. In addition, Twin City received assists from Colton Radtke, Daniel Billiar, and Marshall Klitzke, who each chipped in one and Tanner Fricke and Tyler Montgomery, who contributed two a piece. St. Louis kept Twin City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jared Schletty made 39 saves on 43 shots. The Jr. Blues struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 22 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. St. Louis was helped by Patrick Gregory, who registered one goal. Gregory scored 2:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Louis. Jamie DeMarco assisted on the tally. St. Louis also got a goal from Philip Lux as well. More assists for St. Louis came via Paul OConnor, Trace Jablin, Daniel Rosse, Tyler Opilka, and Adam Otten, who each chipped in one. Clint Steinmeyer recorded 29 saves for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
