The Queen City Steam survived a determined comeback attempt by the Battle Creek Jr. Revolution on the way to a 3-2 win. Queen City made the score 3-1 on a goal by Eric Woodward at 16:19 in the third period, and Battle Creek got as close as 3-2 when James Romberger scored 19:14 into the third period. The Steam took advantage of the Jr. Revolution's penalties and slotted in two goals on the power play. Queen City kept Battle Creek's goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Beck made 49 saves on 52 shots. Queen City got a goal from Trevor Voelker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Queen City were Nick Okada, who had two and Henry Smith, Ryan Faucheux, Jordan Frasse, and Devin Lyshon, who each chipped in one. The Steam were unable to stop the Jr. Revolution from sending pucks towards the net, and Battle Creek eventually piled up 62 shots on goal. The Jr. Revolution were helped by Johnathan Edwards, who registered one goal. Edwards scored 12:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Joey Lioy provided the assist. In addition, Battle Creek received assists from Andre Pelltier, Chris Williams, and Brandon Gallo, who contributed one each. Queen City's Arthur Haase stopped 60 shots out of the 62 that he faced. The Steam ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major. For Queen City, Zachary Barngrover was ejected from the game. Battle Creek totaled 37 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. The Jr. Revolution ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Eric Tucker was ejected from the game.
