Mitch's hat trick boosts Cleveland over Battle Creek, 6-0

The Battle Creek Jr. Revolution could not stop the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks' Andrew Mitch, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-0 win.

Mitch's first goal came 11:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:56 into the second and at 4:43 into the third.

Cleveland led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring three goals in the second.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' defensive play was more effective than usual against Battle Creek. Cleveland allows two goals per game. The Jr. Revolution were unable to stop the Jr. Lumberjacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Cleveland eventually piled up 56 shots on goal.

Cleveland additionally got points from Mitch, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Kyle Fink, who also had one goal and one assist. Jon Bayer also scored for Cleveland. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Cameron Dimmitt, who had four and Steve Lecey, Kyle Janozik, Kevin Mansolill, and Pat Smith, who contributed one each.

Lawrence Dvorak Jr recorded 18 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Battle Creek's Matthew Hughes stopped 50 shots out of the 56 that he faced. The Jr. Revolution totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Battle Creek, Joshua Kimber was ejected from the game.
