Kalisz leads St. Louis over Kalamazoo, 5-2Blue Rink Sun, Feb 26, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Louis Bandits' Joe Kalisz had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Kalamazoo Jr. K Wings. Kalisz's tallies came at 9:32 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Louis and 18:51 into the third to make the score 5-2 St. Louis.St. Louis stifled Kalamazoo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bandits kept the Jr. K Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Kenneth MacLean made 27 saves on 32 shots. St. Louis also got points from Kalisz, who also grabbed two goals and two assists and Ryan Stouffer, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Louis got a goal from Greg Johnson as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were TJ Sherman, Brett Bauza, Cody Ganchar, Frank Dichiara, and Wes Elrod, who each chipped in one. Kalamazoo was helped by Taylor Burden, who had two goals. Burden scored the first of his two goals at 4:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kalamazoo. Christian George assisted on the tally. Burden's next tally made the score 2-0 Kalamazoo with 8:09 left in the first period. George provided the assist. More assists for Kalamazoo came via Danny Hamburg, who had one. St. Louis took out Spencer Viele after he had made 10 saves and installed Tyler Green in goal, where he finished with 12 saves and the win. The Bandits incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Jr. K Wings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
