Bismarck blows out Minot, 5-1

The Bismarck Bobcats were firing on all cylinders against the Minot Minotauros, and when the final buzzer sounded Bobcats emerged with a 5-1 win.

Bismarck was led by Patrick Moore, who tallied one goal and one assist. Moore scored 15:54 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Bismarck. Tyler Richter provided the assist.

The Bobcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minot to score on any of its five power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Bismarck put 50 shots on net during the contest, more than the 34 it averages per game.

Bismarck additionally got points from Adam Knochenmus, who also had one goal and one assist and Moore, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Bismarck got a goal from John Furgele as well. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Daniel Zawacki, who had three and Ryan Callahan, Bryce Anderson, and Castan Sommer, who each chipped in one.

The 24 shots that the Minotauros put on net surpassed Minot's average of 18 shots per game this season. The Minotauros' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Minot finished with 34 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Seth Blair, who totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor.

The Minotauros were led by Hans Drawbert, who scored the team's only goal. Drawbert scored 16:24 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Bismarck. Derek Tylka picked up the assist.

Tommy Burke made 23 saves for the Bobcats on 24 shots. Bismarck incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jake Hebda turned away 45 pucks between the pipes for Minot.
