The Bismarck Bobcats took advantage of the Alexandria Blizzard's penalties with an effective power play and won, 6-3.

Bismarck was led by Francis DeAugustine, who had one goal and one assist. DeAugustine scored on the power play 4:04 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Bismarck. The Bobcats had gained a power play chance when Matt Youso was whistled for grabbing face mask. Rory Vesel picked up the assist.

Bismarck was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. The Bobcats' defensemen played an important role in the offense, as they chipped in two goals. By firing 45 shots on goal, Bismarck exceeded the 32 shots it averages per game this year.

Bismarck also got points from Donald Olivieri, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Bryce Schmitt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and DeAugustine, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Bismarck also had goals scored by Grant Mindt, who had one and Castan Sommer, who had two. More assists for Bismarck came via Buster Hebda, Mike Dockry, Adam Knochenmus, Tyler Richter, Bryce Anderson, Shane Omdahl, and Nicholas Miglio, who contributed one each.

Alexandria was led by Nick DAvolio, who finished with one goal and one assist. DAvolio scored 10:18 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Bismarck. Michael Mooney provided the assist. Alexandria additionally got points from DAvolio, who also registered one goal and one assist. Craig Lindegard also scored for Alexandria. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Hayden Trupp, who had two.

Tommy Burke made 26 saves for the Bobcats on 29 shots. Bismarck incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Blizzard's Jameson Shortreed stopped 39 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Alexandria totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Blizzard ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Youso was ejected from the game.
