Michael McMurtry had two goals and one assist to lead the Gloucester Rangers to a 7-3 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings. McMurtry's tallies came on the power play at 11:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Gloucester and short handed 10:41 into the second to make the score 4-3 Gloucester.Gloucester pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Gloucester forced Pembroke goalie Troy Gauthier to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Rangers bested their season scoring average. Gloucester has scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Gloucester additionally got points from Jacob Jammes, who also had one goal and three assists, Chad Millett, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Eric Snedden, who also registered one goal and one assist. Keegan Rowe also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Adam Doelman, Patrick White, and Miguel Laurin, who contributed one a piece. The Lumber Kings kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 42 saves on 45 shots. Pembroke was helped by Geoff Gallagher, who racked up one goal. Gallagher scored 15:43 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Trevor Packard assisted on the tally. Pembroke also got points from Jonathan Milley, who also had one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Tyler Gaudet as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Maxime Lamontagne, who had one and Pietro Antonelli, who had two. Gloucester registered two goals on six power play opportunities. The Lumber Kings' Gauthier stopped 24 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Pembroke incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
