Cornwall boosted by Hafner's play in net, beats Cumberland 4-1

Lukas Hafner stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 4-1 victory over the Cumberland Grads.

Cornwall was sparked by Tyson Spink, who racked up one goal. Spink scored 11:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Tylor Spink assisted on the tally.

Cumberland was unable to stop the Colts from sending pucks towards the net, and Cornwall eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Cornwall additionally got points from Michael Borkowski, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Roman Ammirato as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Viktors Korbs, Michael Woolley, Billy Ulrick, and Alexandre Gendron, who contributed one a piece.

The Grads put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Colts to score on any of their three power plays. Cumberland did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Grads put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Cumberland's offense rang up 31 shots on Cornwall's net.

The Grads were led by Sean Bamford, who scored the team's only goal. Bamford scored on the power play 15:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Brandon Howes had put Cumberland on the power play. Jonathon Elliott picked up the assist.

The Colts incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Grads' Robin Billingham stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Cumberland incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
