Millen leads Ottawa to shutout victory over Brockville

Charlie Millen was superb between the pipes for the Ottawa Senators, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Brockville Braves.

Ottawa was led by Kevin Ryder, who had one goal. Ryder scored 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Dylan Giberson picked up the assist.

The Senators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Conor Brown also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Devon Rice, who had two and Joe Shecter, Deric Boudreau, and Ben Robillard, who contributed one a piece.

Brockville made Senators' goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 32 saves. Millen made 30 stops and Ed Zdolshek made two. The Braves stifled Ottawa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Brockville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Braves put an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brockville's Andrew Pikul stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
