Cornwall beats Pembroke 4-0 as Hafner gains shutout

Lukas Hafner was superb between the pipes for the Cornwall Colts, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Tyson Spink was all over the ice for Cornwall, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Spink scored the first of his two goals at 10:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. Tylor Spink provided the assist. Spink's next tally made the score 3-0 Cornwall with 8:00 left in the third period. Roman Ammirato assisted on the tally.

The Colts excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Cornwall's defensive play was more effective than usual against Pembroke. The Colts gives up 2.5 goals on average per game.

Cornwall also got points from Michael Phillips, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Kyle Baun as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Mark Hough and Michael Borkowski, who contributed one a piece.

The Lumber Kings managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Pembroke ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. The Lumber Kings were held below their usual level of production. Pembroke puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game.

Hafner recorded 25 saves for Cornwall. The Colts incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Francis Dupuis made 23 saves for the Lumber Kings on 27 shots.
