Hawkesbury rolls over Kanata, 6-3

The Hawkesbury Hawks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Kanata Stallions.

Hawkesbury got the win with help from a great game by Stephen Hrehoriak, who had two goals and one assist. Hrehoriak scored the first of his two goals at 13:40 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. Stefano Momesso provided the assist. Hrehoriak's next tally made the score 6-2 Hawkesbury with 8:07 left in the third period.

The Hawks' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 39 shots put on Kanata's net. Hawkesbury found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Hawks average three goals per game.

Hawkesbury also got points from Hrehoriak, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Sebastian Meltzer, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Momesso, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Yanik Laliberte also scored for Hawkesbury. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Alex Stothart, who had two and Felix Levasseur, Francis Landers, Remi Elie, Carl Faucher, Sebastien Lavoie, and Holden Anderson, who each chipped in one.

The Stallions were helped by Cody Levasseur, who tallied one goal. Levasseur scored 6:13 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Hawkesbury. Ryan Donnelly picked up the assist. Kanata got a goal from Alex Robinson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Phillip Nasca, Ryan Robertson, Mitch Kerwin, and Brandon Petrie, who contributed one each.

Carmine Guerriero made 23 saves for Hawkesbury on 26 shots. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brandon Lane recorded 33 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
