Alaska falls to Wenatchee in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Wenatchee Wild's DJ Vandercook scored 4:06 into overtime to beat the Alaska Avalanche, 4-3 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, Alaska faces elimination next time out.

Wenatchee was led by Vandercook, who racked up one goal.

In a losing effort, the Avalanche were sparked by Matt Friese, who grabbed two goals. Friese scored the first of his two goals at 19:35 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wenatchee. Eliot Grauer provided the assist. Friese's next tally made the score 3-3 with 10:42 left in the third period. Alaska had taken the advantage when the Wild's Max McHugh got sent off for hooking. Joe Schmitz picked up the assist.

Wenatchee also got points from Jacob Barber, who also registered one goal and one assist. Wenatchee also got a goal from Michael Di Puma as well. More assists for Wenatchee came via Ben Carey, who had two and Mario Puskarich, Bradley Shumway, Chris Rumble, and Carl-Johan Sjogren, who contributed one a piece.

In addition, Alaska received assists from Blake Huppert, who had one and Jake Williams, who had two.

Brandon Jaeger recorded 27 saves for Wenatchee. The Wild incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nick Kulmanovsky made nine saves before being replaced by Landon Peterson, who took the loss and made 11 saves. The Avalanche incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
