Wenatchee downs Kenai River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Wenatchee Wild pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears on a clutch goal by Michael Di Puma.

Kenai River's power play was ineffective against Wenatchee's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Wild were sparked by Di Puma, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Di Puma scored 1:18 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Wenatchee. Jacob Barber assisted on the tally.

Wenatchee kept the Brown Bears' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mathias Dahlstrom made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Wenatchee also got a goal from Brennen Parker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wenatchee were Kyle Huson, who had two and Matt Cope and Blake Saylor, who each chipped in one.

Kenai River stifled the Wild's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Brown Bears were helped by Doug Beck, who finished with one goal. Beck scored 6:20 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kenai River. Brett Lubanski picked up the assist. Ryan Walker also scored for Kenai River. In addition, Kenai River received assists from Erik Persson and Erick Ware, who contributed one a piece.

Brandon Jaeger made 21 saves for Wenatchee on 23 shots. The Wild incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kenai River incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
