Fresno completes comeback, beats Amarillo, 4-3Schwan SR-4 Thu, Sep 16, 2010 Story by Narrative Science.
The Amarillo Bulls could not hold down the Fresno Monsters, and Monsters erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win. Fresno never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Monsters was down 3-1 after a goal by Amarillo's Cody Freeman at 9:58 in the second period. Fresno knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by John Siemer at 14:18 in the third period. The Monsters got the game winner at 18:54 in the third period on a goal by Siemer. Fresno pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Monsters excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. By firing 26 shots on goal, Fresno exceeded the 20.1 shots it averages per game this year. The Monsters were helped by Jeffrey Pauluk, who registered one goal. Fresno also got a goal from CJ Pullar as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno were Tom Hilbrich, who had two and Walker Hyland and Jordan Johnson, who each chipped in one. Terrence Johnson also scored for Amarillo. In addition, Amarillo received assists from Mitch Rogge, Joe Kozlak, Steven Obarzanek, and Chris Cass, who contributed one a piece. Luis Puig made 20 saves for Fresno on 23 shots. The Monsters registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Greg Lewis recorded 22 saves for the Bulls. Amarillo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
