The Hockey Guild welcomes you to the Quest for the Crown 2 charity hockey festival and tournament. We are proud to bring you the most unique hockey experience found in the Rocky Mountains.
Please be aware of our marathon format, which is comprised of :45 minute games. Once the Zamboni doors close, there clock will start. There will be a 3-minute warmup and then the puck will be dropped.
The final two minutes of each game will turn to stopped-time format unless the margin is THREE or greater. This is basically a three-goal mercy rule. This provides teams that are looking to tie the game or improve their GF/GA margin an opportunity to do so.
Please be mindful that referees will be dropping the puck quickly and within 3-5 seconds of the whistle. Be smart. Don't take penalties and
In order to maximize your four-game guarantee experience, be sure to follow these few simple rules:
1. Get to the locker room a little earlier and STRETCH EARLY. We have a massage therapist on-site all weekend that can help loosen those muscles for an in-kind donation. Use it to your advantage and that way your warm-up can be shorter (if you choose to have one at all).
2. Don't switch ends!! Referees will take a 1:00 time-out halfway through the game and at that time, teams can choose whether or not they want to switch. If a game has heavy action on one end and light action on the other, the referee may choose to switch ends for ice-quality purposes.
3. Drink plenty of water, Red Bull and food will be available ON-SITE ALL WEEKEND LONG. STAY FUELED AND HYDRATED. We will have a handful of water bottles on the rinks at all times and please be mindful they are for ALL players ALL weekend, so don't take them!!!
4. Continue to check this site as the stats categories that we award prizes for will be updated as each game ends!
5. As always e-mail the TOURNEY MASTER at justin@thehockeyguild.com with any questions
