Game Notes |
The final game of the night saw the Arenas coming off their first victory of the
season against the Jets still looking to get the first W.
This tightly played affair had a playoff feel to it early on as the Jets were
desperate to get that first win. The intensity of the match was clearly evident
early on as Darren and Nathan were both sent off for roughing as they jockeyed
for position in front of the net.
The score after 1 period was Arenas 1 Jets 0
The Jets came out firing in the 2nd period trying to gain some momentum, lead by
3 goals coming from captains Jordan and Poland. Answering back was the all-
star combination of Tom and Gazzard 2 goals a piece in the game. However, the
top forward line of Dave Gazzard and Nathan Kowalski where largely held in
check by the Jets top D-men (Hooker, CFL, Darren and Chad).
With the score tied 4 - 4 going into the final period. With solid goaltending at both
ends on the rink from Hernzie and Campbell this game could have gone either
way but the Jets received some late game heroics from the hard working play of
forward Sean Brosseau who added in 2 goals to give the Jets their first victory of
the season.
