The final week of the 2025 HCBL regular season saw a lot of drama as to how the postseason picture would play out. Two players stood out from the field and were honored in the HCBL weekly awards for the last week of the regular season.

Ryan Kiendle (St. John’s) of the South Shore Clippers was named the Pepsi Player of the Week, while Diego Sarabia (Bates) was selected as the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week.

Kiendle hit .429 for the Clippers in the regular season’s final week with a pair of home runs and 11 RBI. The Ronkonkoma native in the first game of a doubleheader against Sag Harbor on July 19th went 3-for-4 with a home run and seven RBI as the Clippers erased a 9-0 deficit to win by a score of 15-9. Kiendle’s seven RBI for the game set a new South Shore single-game record.

In the final game of the regular season for South Shore against the North Fork Ospreys on July 22nd, Kiendle hit a three-run home run in the Clippers’ 10-3 victory over the Ospreys at Cochran Park.

Sarabia made two appearances in the final week of the regular season for the Bucks, pitching 11.0 innings with an ERA of 0.82 for the week with 13 strikeouts.

In the Bucks' season finale against Southampton, Sarabia pitched a six-inning complete game as the Bucks defeated the Breakers by a final score of 10-0. The Georgia native only allowed six hits as he struck out seven batters and allowed just one walk.
 

Sarabia is the third Shelter Island Buck to be named the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week after Danny Onorato (Iona) and Dylan Joseph (RIT) took honors in Weeks 4 and 5, respectively.

The HCBL weekly awards are voted on by the league’s six head coaches each weekend.
