Keene SwampBats vs. North Shore Navigators

Final Score: Keene 5, North Shore 3

Lynn, MA- The Navigators hosted the red-hot SwampBats for a game that saw both teams producing at the plate, but Keene kept the lead the entire time and didn’t look back. Both teams got going right away in the first, with Keene kicking off the top of the inning in commanding fashion when Nick Romano (Florida Atlantic) hit a three-run blast to quickly put Keene up three-zip.

The Navigators rallied in the bottom of the inning, starting when Jaydon Aukai-Kea (Vanderbilt) hit an RBI single to cut the Keene lead to two. Davis Baker (UPenn) followed that with an RBI double to make the score 3-2 SwampBats after the first inning. Keene, however, fired right back in the top of the second inning when Jack Herring (East Carolina) drove in a run on a single, increasing the lead to 4-2.

North Shore showed some fight in the bottom of the fourth inning when Conor Moriarty (Bowdoin) hit an RBI single to cut the SwampBat lead down to one. That wouldn’t be enough, as Michael O’Brien  (Arkansas-Little Rock) hit an RBI single of his own in the top of the seventh inning to increase the lead to 5-3.

That was all Keene would need, as they’d take home the win and improve to 26-11 on the season, with a huge eight game lead on Sanford for the number one spot in the North Division. Meanwhile, North Shore falls to 14-20 on the season.
