All-Star Game Postponed to Monday 7-21
Date: Jul 19, 2025
The Blues remain hot, as they picked up their fourth straight win on Friday night with a 6-3 victory over the Ocean State Waves at Muzzy Field.
Jackson Kossow made his fifth start, and it would end up being the longest outing of the summer. The Iona College product went six innings with three runs allowed and three strikeouts. Kossow was awarded the win, getting some insurance from the bullpen. Jordan Paradis (Mass. Darmouth) pitched a scoreless seventh inning with a couple of punchouts, as Pedro Leon (Holy Cross) recorded the final six outs of the game. Leon struck out three Waves' batters during his relief appearance.
After Kossow allowed a run in the bottom of the first, Nate Lincoln (Marist) tied the game in the top of the second with an RBI single. Bristol would take the lead in the third inning with a two-run home run from Trevor Hansen (Manhattan) to make it 3-1. Hansen holds the team lead in homers with six this season, as he prepares to compete in the home run derby at Upper Valley on Sunday.
Bristol added to the lead in the top of the fourth with a passed ball and an RBI groundout from Thomas Ahlers (Kenne State) to put the Blues up 5-1. Lincoln added an RBI single in the sixth inning to give Bristol a 6-3 advantage. Lincoln extended his hitting streak to four games, finishing his night with three hits and two runs batted in.
With the Newport Gulls losing to the Mystic Schooners, the Blues now hold a two-game lead for first place in the South Division. They'll look to keep the win streak going on Saturday night at Muzzy, where Bristol will host the Upper Valley Nighthawks. First pitch is set for 6:30.
