Orlando, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers are just 1 win away from securing second place over the Leesburg Lightning in the 2025 FCSL Standings after defeating the Lightning 11-5 at home.

The first couple of innings brought some back-and-forth action with the Leesburg Lightning taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning but Orlando immediately tying the game in the bottom half.

The Snapper's run was a product of a Mario Trivella (Florida International) monstrous homerun giving him his fourth of the season and second in the last 2 games.

His former college teammate, Hayden Gustavson (Undecided) showcased his power as well with a solo blast in the fourth inning to rack up his third long ball of the week.

Baseballs continued to leave the yard in a hurry as the Lightning got themselves in the home run column in the fifth inning tying the game up at 2 a piece.

Despite Leesburg battling to keep pace with the Snappers, Orlando’s offense would not back down as they scored 3 runs in the fifth.

The inning was highlighted by a 2-RBI triple off the bat of Gustavson who now was just a double short of the cycle.

With the ballgame at a 9-5 score in the eighth inning, Grant Comeaux (Undecided) delivered a 2-RBI triple himself, scoring the final two runs of the ballgame. extending his team’s lead 11-5.

The Snappers will look to fire their red-hot offense again on Friday, July 18, with hopes of taking the series against the Lightning and most importantly securing that second place spot in the standings over Leesburg.

First pitch for the final home game of the regular season is set for 7:00pm from Orlando, Fl.
