BRISTOL, Conn - The Valley Blue Sox had concepts of a mid-game push, but ultimately fell 9-4 Wednesday night at Muzzy Field.

Valley (14-17) found itself in an early deficit after Bristol ran in three runs in the third inning. Trevor Hansen, Thomas Ahlers, and Dean O'Neill were catalysts towards the Blues' 3-0 lead.

The Blue Sox showed life in the fourth with three runs that evened the score. Nicholas Spaventa tallied an RBI while Kai Cunningham and Chris Carson gave their offense a fighting chance. But the momentum did not last long.

Bristol once again answered right back in the fourth, scoring three more runs to stretch the advantage 6-3. Alex Irizarry put up another in the fifth for the Blues, and a couple of insurance runs in the seventh gave Valley no chance to spark a comeback.

Valley's offense faltered and could not sustain pressure, finishing with just five hits. Cunningham went 2 for 3 with a run scored, so a strong night at the plate to say the least.

Starting pitcher Jack Wajda allowed six runs across 3.1 innings. The bullpen as a whole combined for 4.2 innings of relief, but the back half of Bristol's order was too much for Valley to handle.

The Valley Blue Sox look to bounce back quickly as they move on with their three-game road trip against the Danbury Westerners tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
