The Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League had 24 alumni chosen in the 2025 MLB Draft, plus at least one more signed an undrafted free agent contract. The Bethesda Big Train had 13 of those players, the Alexandria Aces added seven, the Cropdusters had two, and the D.C. Grays, Gaithersburg Giants, and Metro South County Braves each had one draftee. 

 

Michael Lombardi | RHP | Tulane | Big Train, 2024

Drafted: Round 2, #61 Overall (Kansas City Royals)

In just one pitching appearance for the Big Train, Lombardi struck out two in two innings of work. A two-way player for the Green Wave, he hit .273 at the plate in 139 at-bats while posting a 2.14 ERA with a whopping 73 strikeouts through 42.0 innings pitched in 2025. Lombardi ranked first in his conference in saves, with 11, and logged a 4-1 record through 21 appearances including six starts. He scored 34 runs for Tulane, adding 29 RBI.

 

Dixon Williams | INF | East Carolina | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 4C, #136 Overall (Atlanta Braves)

Williams appeared in 31 games for the Big Train during the summer of 2023, logging a .349 batting average on 37 hits in 106 at bats. He grabbed 11 doubles and one triple in his time with Bethesda, adding 21 RBI and 18 stolen bases. As a junior at East Carolina, Williams ranked first in the American Athletic Conference in walks (49), second in runs (61), and third in stolen bases (22). 

 

Cam Nelson | OF | Wake Forest | Cropdusters, 2023

Drafted: Round 5, #138 Overall (Colorado Rockies)

In Olney, Nelson hit at a .315 clip with 17 hits, adding six RBI, four stolen bases, and 14 walks in 15 games. During his 2025 season with Wake Forest, he appeared in 27 games, logging a .318 batting average on 21 hits. He added 20 runs for the Demon Deacons, drove in 19, and drew 20 walks. Nelson is the first Cropdusters alum to be selected in the MLB Draft. 

 

James Quinn-Irons | OF | George Mason | Aces, 2024

Drafted: Round 5, #147 Overall (Tampa Bay Rays)

With the Alexandria Aces last summer, Quinn-Irons hit at a .273 clip through 31 games, scoring 22 runs with 11 doubles and three home runs. A Reston native, he was a star for George Mason in 2025. Named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, he was also a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the best amateur baseball player in the U.S. Quinn-Irons ranked in the top-20 nationally in two categories, the top-10 in seven categories, and was in the top-four in his conference in nine different categories. He led the A10 in batting average (.419), doubles (24), hits (101), on-base percentage (0.523), RBI (85), and total bases (177). 

 

Peyton Prescott | RHP | Florida State | Big Train, 2024

Drafted: Round 5, #163 Overall (New York Mets)

As a member of the Big Train, Prescott appeared in three games and posted a 4.50 ERA through 10.0 innings of work, adding nine strikeouts. He made 24 appearances for the Seminoles in 2025, tossing 36.2 innings and striking out 46 batters to post a 5.15 ERA. Last summer, he threw the fastest pitch since the CRSCBL started tracking pitch speed data in 2023, at 96.9 MPH. 

 

Davion Hickson | RHP | Rice | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 5, #165 Overall (Los Angeles Dodgers)

In Hickson’s time with the Big Train, he appeared in five games, logging a 2.45 ERA through 11.0 innings with 12 strikeouts. Hickson made the switch to a starting role with Rice in 2025, and ranked in the top-10 in his conference in ERA, strikeouts, and strikeouts per nine innings. He was named to the All-AAC Second Team after posting a 3.82 ERA in 73.0 innings pitched, striking out 90 batters, recording one save, and tossing a complete game. 

 

Matthew Miura | OF | Hawai’i | Cropdusters, 2023

Drafted: Round 6, #180 Overall (St. Louis Cardinals)

Miura appeared in 32 games for the Cropdusters in 2023, hitting at a .388 clip with five doubles, 17 stolen bases, 22 walks, 24 RBI, and 27 runs. At Hawai’i in 2025, Miura played in 55 of 56 games, logging a .338 batting average on 72 hits. He led his conference in walks with 46, and added three home runs, 53 runs, 35 RBI, and 18 stolen bases.

 

Colton Book | LHP | Saint Joseph’s | Aces, 2021

Drafted: Round 9, #271 Overall (Chicago Cubs)

Book made three starts over five appearances for the Aces, logging a 5.71 ERA and 11 strikeouts across 17.1 innings pitched. This spring at Saint Joseph’s, he made 14 starts, tossing 86.2 innings with a 3.53 ERA and one complete game, earning him Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year honors. He led the conference and ranked within the top-15 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.10), strikeouts (122), and strikeouts per nine innings (12.67). 

 

Kade Woods | RHP | Louisiana State | Big Train, 2022

Drafted: Round 10, #307 Overall (Atlanta Braves)

In five games with the Big Train, Woods posted a 5.40 ERA in 10.0 innings pitched, striking out 16 batters. He made two appearances for LSU in 2025 and recorded two strikeouts.

 

Cameron Keshock | RHP | Samford | Aces, 2023

Drafted: Round 12, #353 Overall (Pittsburgh Pirates)

Keshock appeared in nine games for the Aces, including four starts, and notched a 3.00 ERA in his 21.0 innings. He added 23 strikeouts while allowing just seven earned runs and recording a save. Keshock tossed 77.0 innings across 15 appearances and 14 starts for Samford. He struck out 74 and posted a 5.73 ERA for the Bulldogs.

 

Dylan Grego | INF | Ball State | Aces, 2023

Drafted: Round 13, #400 Overall (San Diego Padres)

In Alexandria, Grego hit at a .264 clip in 25 games. He scored 16 runs, hit 10 doubles and two home runs, while adding 14 RBI and six stolen bases. At Ball State, his .376 batting average was good for second in his conference and his 91 hits led the MAC. Grego added 58 runs, 55 RBI, 14 home runs, 14 doubles, and 14 stolen bases for the Cardinals.

 

Jacob Hartlaub | RHP | Ball State | Aces, 2022

Drafted: Round 14, #417 Overall (Tampa Bay Rays)

Hartlaub made eight starts for the Aces in 2022, logging a 4.85 ERA and striking out 40 over 42.2 innings. He made 15 starts for Ball State this past spring, owning a 6-2 record with a 5.09 ERA in his 81.1 innings pitched. 

 

Connor Rasmussen | INF | Tulane | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 15, #458 Overall (Kansas City Royals)

With the Big Train, Rasmussen hit .259 with 21 runs in his 28 appearances. He logged four doubles, two triples, seven stolen bases, 16 RBI, and 17 walks. With the Green Wave, Rasmussen appeared in all 58 games this season, posting a .333 batting average on 71 hits, including five home runs and 15 doubles.

 

Jonathan Stevens | RHP | Alabama | Big Train, 2024

Drafted: Round 16, #479 Overall (Minnesota Twins)

Stevens pitched 19.0 innings for the Bethesda squad, owning a 3-1 record and one save in 10 games. He posted a 1.42 ERA and struck out 34 batters during his time with the Big Train.

 

Joe Ruzicka | RHP | Belmont | Giants, 2023

Drafted: Round 16, #489 Overall (Detroit Tigers)

During his time in Gaithersburg, Ruzicka made two starts that spanned 8.0 innings, logging a 2.25 ERA and striking out eight batters. At Belmont, he was named 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year after his 15 starts for the Bruins. He notched a 3.56 ERA over 81.0 innings, including one complete game, and struck out 70.

 

Bryce Molinaro | INF | Penn State | Grays, 2022

Drafted: Round 17, #501 Overall (Washington Nationals)

In six appearances for the Grays, Molinaro had four at bats with one hit and a walk. At Penn State this spring, he was eighth in the Big Ten with 61 RBI. Molinaro appeared in all 56 games, hitting at a .267 clip while adding 46 runs, 34 walks, 13 home runs, and three triples.

 

Patrick Galle | RHP | Ole Miss | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 17, #508 Overall (Boston Red Sox)

Galle made eight starts for the Big Train, logging a 4.68 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 25.0 innings pitched. He also made eight appearances for Ole Miss in 2025, striking out nine batters in 7.0 innings.

 

Luke Nowak | OF | Illinois - Chicago | Big Train, 2022

Drafted: Round 17, #518 Overall (Kansas City Royals)

In 26 games with the Big Train, Nowak hit .360 with 36 hits, including two doubles. He scored 22 runs, drew 19 walks, stole 10 bases, and drove in nine runs for Bethesda. With UIC this season, Nowak was first in his conference in batting average (.387), second in stolen bases (28), and third in hits (86). He also added 55 runs, 17 doubles, five home runs, and 1.014 OPS.

 

Joey Wimpelberg | RHP | College of Central Florida | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 17, #519 Overall (Detroit Tigers)

Wimpelberg saw game action seven times in Bethesda, posting a 2.82 ERA across 22.1 innings pitched. He recorded a win and struck out 15 for the Big Train. At the College of Central Florida, he made two appearances, both starts, and struck out 12 batters.

 

Sam Robertson | INF | Northwest Shoals CC | Aces, 2024

Drafted: Round 17, #523 Overall (New York Mets)

Robertson hit at a .245 clip in 27 games in Alexandria, scoring 23 runs, stealing 17 bases, and driving in seven. In 55 games for Northwest Shoals CC, Robertson swiped 60 bags and hit .362. He scored 55 runs, drove in 35, drew 33 walks, and hit four home runs.

 

Ryan Osinski | RHP | Virginia | Aces, 2022

Drafted: Round 17, #524 Overall (New York Yankees)

An Alexandria native, Osinski pitched in 12 games for the Aces, spanning 23.1 innings. He owned a 3.86 ERA with a 3-0 record and one save. Osinski struck out 29 as a member of the Aces and had a 4.83 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He recorded two saves with UVA in 2025, tossing 21.0 innings through 15 appearances.

 

Cooper McGrath | RHP | Northeastern | Braves, 2022

Drafted: Round 18, #536 Overall (San Francisco Giants)

McGrath tossed 13.1 innings for the Braves over seven games, notably striking out 16 batters. At Northeastern in 2025, he owned a 1.66 ERA in 21.2 innings of work, allowing just four earned runs and recording 19 strikeouts.

 

Brayden Jones | RHP | Ole Miss | Big Train, 2022

Drafted: Round 18, #537 Overall (Tampa Bay Rays)

As a member of the Big Train, Jones made seven starts in eight games, logging 29.2 innings pitched. He posted a 2.73 ERA with 32 strikeouts and only nine earned runs. With Ole Miss, he saw the mound in 18 games, posting a 5.50 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 18.0 innings pitched. 

 

Griffin Stieg | RHP | Virginia Tech | Big Train, 2023

Drafted: Round 18, #542 Overall (Seattle Mariners)

Although he appeared in just one game for Bethesda, Stieg struck out three and kept a 0.00 ERA in 3.0 innings. As a starter for the Hokies in 2025, he tossed 51.2 innings with 48 strikeouts and a 4.70 ERA.

 
 

Brandon Cassedy | RHP | George Mason | Big Train, 2023-24

Signed as undrafted free agent: Houston Astros 

In 2023, Cassedy pitched to an astonishing 0.64 ERA, allowing just 24 baserunners in 28 innings while striking out 32. His dominant summer earned him CRSCBL Pitcher of the Year honors. He returned to Bethesda in 2024, striking out seven batters over nine innings of work, picking up one save. With George Mason this spring, he logged the third-best ERA in his conference at 3.32. His 16 appearances came over 84.0 innings, and he recorded eight wins with 78 strikeouts.
