North Adams, MA – The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) is excited to announce that Jackson Walsh of the Sanford Mainers and Gavin Bicho of the Newport Gulls have been named as the 2025 NECBL All-Star Game broadcasters, as they were selected to represent the North and South divisions, respectively.
The duo was voted by their fellow broadcasting peers and representatives from the front offices of all teams within their respective divisions and will be on the call for the game at the Maxfield Sports Complex in White River Junction, Vermont, on July 20th.
Walsh, a recent graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts, is no stranger to broadcasting. Walsh served as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for Wheaton Athletics and spent the better part of last fall and winter extending his versatility outside of baseball, calling basketball and soccer for the Lyons. Walsh doesn’t just broadcast baseball, but he also played for Wheaton College!
When the lights are the brightest at this year’s All-Star game, he will be ready. Being an NECBL broadcaster is Walsh’s first internship, and he loves what he’s doing.
Bicho attends the University of Miami and is very familiar with calling big games as he is the Sports Director at WVUM-FM, the student-led radio station that reaches Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in Florida.
Bicho also calls games for the Hurricanes Baseball and Women’s Basketball teams, including a cross-country trip to call the women’s basketball game against Stanford and a baseball game against the Boston College Eagles at the historic Fenway Park. Calling Newport games for the NECBL is Gavin’s first internship, and he has enjoyed every second of it, so when the first pitch is thrown at this year’s All-Star game, he will be ready with all the action.
The 2025 NECBL All-Star Game will be live on ESPN+ at 5 pm this Sunday, coming to you from White River Junction. The NECBL Home Run Derby will take place earlier in the day at 2:40 pm on NECBL+ free of charge.
