Following a shutout loss Saturday to the Keene SwampBats, the Blues bounced back with a 6-2 win on Monday night over the Vermont Mountaineers at Montpelier Recreation Field.

J.T. Landwehr (Portland) got the win for his stellar start, pitching five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Landwehr has now struck out 19 batters in 18 innings of work.

Third basemen Trevor Hansen (Manhattan) had a night to remember, as he was responsible for five out of the six Bristol runs. Hansen started the scoring in the top of the second with a three-run home run to make it 3-0 Bristol. It was Hansen's fourth homer of the season, which leads the team.

Mika Petersen (Brown) came through with an RBI single to left field in the top of the third, extending the Blues' lead to four runs. A few batters later, Hansen delivered once again with a two-run double.

The Blues improved to 17-10 with the win. Their next game is on Tuesday night, where they will host the Newport Gulls (19-8). Bristol remains two games behind Newport for first place in the South Division, seeking to inch one game closer to the top spot. First pitch is expected for 5:30 at Muzzy Field.
