NEWPORT, R.I. – As the 2025 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season nears its midway point, the Newport Gulls continue their strong campaign with a 13-7 overall record and an impressive 8-1 mark at Cardines Field. Entering the week in first place of the South Division, the Gulls are set for a pivotal and promotion-filled stretch.

Newport kicks off the week on Monday, June 30, with a doubleheader against the Upper Valley Nighthawks at Cardines Field. Both games are seven innings, with the opener beginning at 3 p.m. and Game 2 slated for 6:35 p.m. Monday is Newport Elks & VFW Support Veterans Night, and the first 250 kids through the gates for Game 2 will receive a free Gulls t-shirt, courtesy of Horan Building Company.

On Tuesday, July 1, the Gulls travel to Martha’s Vineyard for a key matchup against the top-ranked Sharks at the Shark Tank. The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Newport returns home on Wednesday, July 2, to face in-state rival Ocean State Waves for game three of the Pell Bridge Series. The first two meetings have been split, with the home team winning each time. Wednesday’s game, which starts at 6:35 p.m., is Red Sox Foundation Night. The first 250 fans will receive a free Newport Gulls hat, thanks to Brick Alley Pub.

The Gulls hit the road again on Thursday, July 3, making their final regular season trip to western Connecticut to take on the Danbury Westerners at 6:30 p.m.

Newport closes out the week at Cardines Field on the Fourth of July, hosting the Keene Swamp Bats, the top team from the North Division. Friday’s contest features Halloween in July Night, with the first 250 fans receiving free “Gully” masks. Fans are encouraged to wear costumes and celebrate Independence Day while cheering on the Gulls. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

All home games at Cardines Field will be streamed live on ESPN+ throughout the season.
