BRISTOL - The Valley Blue Sox came into Muzzy Field and rode two offensive surges to capture a 12-5 win over the Bristol Blues. The win extends Valley's win streak to four while improving their record to 9-6.

In a game that started as a pitching duel, it quickly turned into an offensive explosion by Valley. Starting pitcher for the Blue Sox, Gregory Shaw, dominated the first four innings whilst allowing just two hits and striking out six batters. Shaw's pitching display in the third inning was special as he got his team out of a jam thanks to a clutch strikeout that kept the game knotted at zero.

Scoreless through four innings, the Valley Blue Sox finally found momentum in the fifth led by Sebastian Mexico, after he crushed a solo home run that sparked Valley's offense. The Sox added four more runs in the sixth inning, which was capped off by Nicholas Spaventa's two-run homer and Mike Lucarelli's two stolen bases and his eventual run, making it 5-0.

Valley reliever Jake Andrews worked his magic in the fifth until he handed the keys to Jack Wadja, who preserved the shutout by getting Valley out of a bases-loaded jam.

Bristol showed life in the seventh, scoring two runs, but their defense fell apart in the eighth inning. The Blue Sox ran away with this game by pouring on seven runs in the inning alone, which was capped off by a Cade Carr RBI double and a run scored.

Overall, Valley scored 12 runs on 12 hits, with contributions from the whole batting order. Five different players all scored multiple runs.

The Southern Division race tightens with a Valley win as they look to continue their win streak as they host the Martha's Vineyard Sharks Thursday at 6:35 p.m.
