Blue Sox drop both games in double header vs. Keene

The Valley Blue Sox travelled to Keene on Wednesday for a set of matchups with the league leading Swamp Bats. 

 

Keene advanced to an 11-1 overall record after a sweep of Valley. The games ended in 6-2 and 3-0 final scores, respectively. 

 

Ty Mainolfi and Ripken Reese led the Swamp Bats in game one, tallying multi hit games with Reese belting a home run. 

 

Clay Burdette was Valley’s lone highlight, contributing a home run. 

 

Game two showcased Keene’s dominance on the mound. Niklas Pavia and John Malone were the duo for the Swamp Bats, with the latter fanning eight batters and earning the win. 

 

The pair also combined for a complete game shutout and only allowed one hit.

 

Valley’s record moves to 5-6 on the season. They will return home Friday to host the Bristol Blues.
