WESTERN MASS BASEBALL HALL OF FAME CEREMONY TOMORROW, JUNE 5TH!

The Holyoke Valley Blue Sox will be hosting the 2025 Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Wyckoff Country Club tomorrow, June 5th!

The ceremony will begin with media and a cocktail hour at 6 PM. Dinner will be served at 6:30, and the program will follow at 7 PM.

Tickets and table packages are currently available at https://valley-blue-sox.square.site/s/shop. Grab yours quickly, as tickets will not be sold onsite at the banquet and are only available while supplies last.

Tickets must be purchased via the link above. Individual tickets are $65 per person. Tables of eight can be purchased for $450 total. Tables of ten are available for $550 total.

2025 Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame Inductees:

Pete Fatse: Born in Holyoke, Fatse played high school baseball for the Minnechaug Regional High School Falcons in Wilbraham before continuing his career with the University of Connecticut. Fatse’s dedication earned him a selection in the 24th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. He currently serves as the hitting coach of the Boston Red Sox. 

Todd Ezold: Ezold turned heads during his time at Classical High School in Springfield. The standout catcher rode this momentum to a playing career with UMass Amherst, where he was a finalist for a position on the 1984 US Olympic Baseball Team. Ezold was drafted into the MLB a year later when the Yankees selected him in the 18th round.

Terry Murphy: Murphy has dedicated his life to the Holyoke community. After graduating from Holyoke High School, he played collegiate baseball for both Holyoke Community College and Stonehill College. Murphy spent time on the Holyoke City Council when he was appointed in 2019, before serving as the Mayor of Holyoke in 2021.

Tom Sgroi: A career winner, Sgroi amassed 330 wins and five Western Massachusetts Championships over his 20 year tenure coaching Westfield High School’s baseball team. His impressive record earned him a spot in the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1996. 

Kevin Stannard: Recently retired, Stannard coached Taconic High School over a 30 year span and recorded over 400 victories. Under Stannard, the Thunder achieved state championship titles in 2017, 2019 and 2021. 

Rich Tettemer: The Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame committee is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2025 Garry Brown Excellence Award, Rich Tettemer. Tettemer has been a prominent figure in local sports media since he joined WWLP in April 1988. He currently anchors the weekday morning and noon editions of 22 News.
