Syracuse Salt Cats Sweep Dansville Gliders to Capture NYCBL Title

 

Syracuse, NY – The Syracuse Salt Cats secured their place in summer collegiate baseball with a dominant performance in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) championship series. Facing off against the Dansville Gliders, the Salt Cats delivered a masterclass in both offense and pitching to claim the coveted title.

 

Game 1: Salt Cats Set the Tone

The championship series kicked off at Babcock Park in Dansville, NY. The Salt Cats wasted no time, putting their offensive prowess on display. Pat May and Chris Hoalcraft led the charge, driving in crucial runs. Joseph Ditzel was solid on the mound, stifling the Gliders’ bats allowing 4 hits and striking out 6. The final score: Salt Cats 15, Gliders 2.

 

Game 2: Salt Cats Complete the Sweep

In the second game, the Salt Cats continued their relentless attack at home. Charlie Iriotakis and Mavrick Bourdeau showcased their hitting skills, while Chris Hoalcraft added 4 RBI to his impressive postseason tally. Ethan Marzo secured the win, allowing only two runs over 5 2/3 innings. The final score: Salt Cats 8, Gliders 2. With this victory, the Salt Cats clinched the NYCBL championship in a two-game sweep.
