WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT - Maxfield Sports Complex will host tonight’s North Division matchup between the Upper Valley Nighthawks (8-12) and the Sanford Mainers (12-11). The Nighthawks are 2-1 versus the Mainers so far this season, sweeping them in a doubleheader at the beginning of June, and losing in a 3-0 shutout on the 16th. 

Upper Valley suffered a tough loss last night versus the Gulls, falling 14-0 in Newport. Before yesterday’s game, the Hawks were on a four-game winning streak, including a doubleheader sweep against the Vermont Mountaineers, who currently have the best record in the NECBL (15-5).

Trey Christman, a new addition to Nighthawks’ roster, has been making waves since he joined the team on the 19th. Batting .412 with 14 hits and a 1.032 OPS, the second baseman was named to the NECBL’s honor roll for week 4. 

Looking ahead, Upper Valley will have the day off on July 4th, but before that, they will play North Adams tomorrow at 6 PM.
