Salamanca Lizards to join NYCBL for 2024 season

The New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) is excited to announce that the Salamanca Lizards will be joining the league for the 2024 season. The Lizards, based in Salamanca, New York, will become the 11th franchise in the NYCBL and the 6th team in the Western Division.

The Lizards will play their home games at the newly constructed Veterans Memorial Park. The park features a state-of-the-art turf playing surface, press box ,and a variety of seating options for fans.

The NYCBL is a summer collegiate baseball league that has been in operation since 1978. The league is made up of college players from across the country who are looking to gain experience and professional exposure while playing competitive baseball. Notable NYCBL alumni include Brad Lidge, J.D. Martinez, Tim Hudson, Hunter Pence and Clay Bellinger.

"The Lizards will be a welcome addition to the NYCBL and will provide a great opportunity for the players and fans of Salamanca to experience the excitement of summer collegiate baseball. The team is sure to be a great addition to the league and will be a great source of pride for the city of Salamanca," said NYCBL Commissioner Joe Brown.
