Henry Bramwell Appointed as New Commissioner of the HCBL

The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL) has announced that Henry Bramwell will serve as its commissioner for the 2024 season. Bramwell is no stranger to the league, having initially served as the General Manager of the Westhampton Aviators, followed by a term as HCBL President. His return is anticipated to be a positive move for the league's operations and community outreach programs.

For nine seasons between 2009 and 2018, Henry Bramwell was one of the vital pieces in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League, helping the league grow first as the inaugural GM of the Westhampton Aviators and later as HCBL president.

Bramwell started as GM of the Westhampton Aviators from 2009-16. Throughout the team’s first eight seasons as GM, Westhampton won three HCBL championships and an Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) title in 2009.

Twenty-one different Aviators alums from Bramwell’s time as GM went on to be selected in the MLB draft. At the same time, six reached the Majors, including former Arizona Diamondback Nick Ahmed and current Boston Red Sox pitcher Greg Weissert.

Bramwell became HCBL president in 2016, serving three seasons before handing off the reigns to current HCBL president Sandi Kruel.

Bramwell reflected on his new role: "I am deeply honored to return to the HCBL and serve as Commissioner. This league is not just about high-level baseball; it's about advancing our mission of providing free, family entertainment and clinics that enrich our community."
