Date:  Source: OJHL Stouffville Spirit

Stouffville Spirit defenceman Ryan Harvey is one of six players named to the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s First Prospect Team for 2022-23, the league announced Thursday.

Harvey led all Spirit blueliners in points this season, his first in the OJHL, with 33 (9 goals/24 assists) in 51 games, good for fifth overall in Stouffville. Two of his goals were game-winners.

“Just a great honour for Ryan and our team,” said Spirit General Manager Kenny Burrows. “Ryan impressed a lot of people at the beginning of the year and carried that through the entire regular season and into the playoffs. No question, he deserves this recognition.”

The Ajax-Pickering Raiders product, who turned 18 last week, is a Stouffville resident. He was a seventh-round pick of the Erie Otters in the 2021 Ontario Hockey League draft.

Uncommitted, the honour roll student drew interest from NCAA Division I schools this season.
