March 7, 2023, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Matt Cato (Photo by Amy Deroche/ OJHL Images) of the Trenton Golden Hawks has been named the Warrior South-East Conference Player-of-the-Month for February after he tallied 15 points during eight games. His eight goals included a game-winner.

In his second season with Trenton, the 19-year-old from Whitby amassed 36 goals and 34 assists during 47 regular season games to lead the Golden Hawks in points. He had 45 points during 54 games in 2021-22.

March 7, 2023, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Wiliam Dyke (Photo by Tim Bates / OJHL Images) of the Burlington Cougars has been named its Warrior Goaltender of the Month for February.

The 6-foot-5 puck stopper went 7-1-1 during February, posting a 2.47 goals-against average with a .932 save percentage. 

The 19-year-old from Lethbridge, AB was 11-1-0 during the regular season with a 2.34 GAA and .927 save percentage.

Dyke played minor hockey in St. John’s, NFLD before two seasons at Stanstead College in Quebec. Before landing in Burlington, he played Jr. A in Alberta and Saskatchewan and four games with the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks.

Dyke and the Cougars face the Markham Royals in the first round of the OJHL playoffs.

 

Ben Bonisteel of the Trenton Golden Hawks was runner-up to Dyke as the Goaltender-of-the-Month. The 19-year-old from Fenwick, ON went 5-1-0 during February, posting a 2.48 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Obtained mid-season from Brantford 99ers, Bonisteel had a combined 3.24 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

 

Committed to NCAA Division I Vermont for next season, Cato played a big role for Team Canada East, scoring four goals in six games during its run to the championship game at the World Jr. A Challenge in Cornwall in December.
