Duquesne expands ACHA D1 coaching staff

Duquesne Hockey has added a few names to their coaching staff this offseason, preparing for a big year for the program. 

 

Dylan Grierson ('21)

Dylan is starting his coaching career at Duquesne after graduating form the University in 2021 with a degree in Business Administration degree. He played parts of 2 seasons with the Dukes before having to walk away from the game due to injuries. He was a graduate assistant coach last season with the new ACHA D3 team and is looking forward to making the jump to D1. Dylan grew up in Philadelphia, PA and played junior hockey for the New England Wolves in the EHL before attending Duquesne. 

 


Jordan Weigand ('21)

Jordan joins the staff after graduating from Duquesne in 2021 with a degree in Psychology and in 2022 with an MBA in Sustainable Business Practices. A native of Buffalo, NY he played for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, winning 2 New York State Catholic High School Championships as well as a NYS Amateur Hockey Championship with the Clarence Mustangs. He is also the Head Coach of the West Allegheny Middle School Hockey Team. 

 

Dan Szamanski ('14)

Dan returns to his alma mater joining the program as an assistant goalie coach for the 2022-23 season. 

 

 

Dylan, Jordan & Dan will join Head Coach Conrad Waite and Goalie Coach Sean Moloney in rounding out the ACHA D1 staff. Coach Waite enters his 6th season at the helm of the program, having twice led the Dukes to 2nd place finishes in the CHMA. Dan & Sean will also be members of Duquesne's ACHA D3 Staff as they work with all of the goaltenders in Duquesne's program.
