Rehwaldt Reigns as Frontier League Player of the Week

Little Falls, NJ -- As Week Seven came to a close today, the Frontier League announced New Jersey Jackals Right Fielder Josh Rehwaldt has been named Player of the Week.

It is the second time a Jackal has been honored with the Player of the Week designation, following Dalton Combs’ selection during the last week of the regular season last year.

Rehwaldt played in all six contests the Jackals had- three against the Empire State Greys at home and three at Stade Canac against the Quebec Capitales. In those games, he went a combined 11-23, clubbing four home runs and tallying 12 RBI, helping the Jackals to a 4-2 week.

None of his home runs were bigger than the straightaway centerfield shot he launched on Friday against Quebec, providing the Jackals with their margin of victory in a 5-4 win over Quebec.

"I feel honored to be picked for player of the week and it means a lot," said Rehwaldt, "but it's still only one week of a long season. I have to continue to try and do my part to help the team win. I've been working on my swing with some help from the guys and this week it really came together. I'm thankful to have teammates that support one another and want everyone to succeed."

Manager Brooks Carey agrees wholeheartedly, saying "He sure has had a good year so far, but this last week was one of those special weeks."

The Jackals will return to Yogi Berra Stadium Tuesday to face the Ottawa Titans. It’s Ottawa’s second trip to Little Falls- the first was a sweep in the first ever series between the two franchises. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and can be heard on MixLr or streamed on FloSports.
