WILD FINISH SEEMS LIKELY

Little Falls, NJ -- Twenty Five years is a lot of baseball history to condense into one celebration, but that's exactly what the New Jersey Jackals were able to do Saturday night as past players and members of the Jackals family gathered to reflect on a momentous moment in the organization.
From players on the first team in 1998, which went on to win the championship, to players from the last crown in 2019, the fans turned out in droves to cheer for the returnees in a pregame celebration. From then on, until the post-game fireworks, not much went right for the Jackals.
Quebec leapt out to a 3-0 lead against Jackals starter Adrian Salcedo in the top of the first inning. A Jeffry Parra RBI double and a Kyle Crowl homer did the damage in the frame. The Jackals appeared to answer right back in the bottom of the first, when Dalton Combs raced for second on a steal attempt. The throw to catch Combs sailed away from second and Trevor Abrams appeared to score, but the pitch before the steal was called a strike to ring up Wylie to end the inning.
Quebec achieved and maintained a 4-0 lead through the first six innings, before placing the game out of reach. David Glaude had the big blast in the inning, knocking a three run homer over the left field wall. That started a cascade of runs over the next four frames, as Quebec tallied a total of 15 runs on the night.
The Jackals lone run in the contest came on a Santiago Chirino RBI double in the 7th. John Witkowski (3-0) takes the win for Quebec, who extended their franchise record winning streak to 13 games. Adrian Salcedo falls to 0-2 and the Jackals drop to 6-11 overall.
The series concludes tomorrow at 2:05pm for a Family Funday Sunday, where fans will be able to run the bases postgame and meet their Jackal heroes before the team heads off to Lake Erie next week for a quick three game road trip. Tickets are available at Jackals.com or at the box office. If you can't make the game, you can catch all the action on MixLR, the Jackals Radio Network and FloSports, the Jackals TV provider.
