The Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) are pleased to announce that Peter Drikos will be joining the club as its Head Coach and General Manager effective immediately.

Peter comes to the Cougars after spending the last two seasons as Head Coach with the Toronto Patriots of the OJHL. “I’m very proud and excited to be joining the Cobourg Cougars. This is a first-class organization that is committed to player development and championship culture”, said Drikos. “I look forward to getting started and being part of not only the Cougars, but the Cobourg community.”

Peter, a native of Toronto, has a vast experience as a hockey player that spans over 10 years from six leagues, 15 different clubs and two different countries. He grew up playing in Ontario including four seasons in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (now OJHL). After a year at Ryerson University (the defenceman), turned professional. Drikos played three seasons in the previously known as the All American Hockey League, Federal Hockey League, and Southern Professional Hockey League.

Moving into the coaching realm, in total Peter has spent 8 years across Head Coach and Assistant Coaching. To highlight, Peter first joined the Patriots for the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach. He then moved to Orangeville Flyers the following season in the same capacity. In 2017 Peter progressed as the head coach of the Brampton Bombers (GOJHL) where he led the team for two seasons. He then rejoined the OJHL in 2019-20 season as an assistant coach with the Milton Menace and from there moved to the Toronto Patriots as Head Coach and then also GM.
