The Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) are pleased to announce that 2002-born forward George Krotiris has committed to Robert Morris University for the 2023/24 hockey season.

“From the first day he became part of the Cobourg Cougars’ hockey club as a starry-eyed 16-year-old, George has worked extremely hard to excel, elevate and develop with the ultimate goal of moving onto a higher level of play”, Marc Mercier, Governor of the club said.

“Joining Robert Morris’ program is a testament to George’s innate drive, grit, and determination and we have every confidence he will continue to lead and shine both on and off the ice”, Mercier went on to say.

Head Coach and General Manager, Wes Wolfe, had this to say about George "George is a tenacious worker who consistently sets the standard with the amount of passion he plays. One of the more gifted skaters in our league, George has taken his game to the next level this season with improved attention to detail and commitment to play without the puck. We are extremely proud of George earning his commitment from Robert Morris University and look forward to an exciting second half of the season."

George played his minor hockey with the North York Rangers and signed with the Cougars for the 2018/19 season. During his rookie season with the Cougars, George posted 14 points (3G, 11A) in only 44 games as a 16-year-old. George now is a member of the leadership group in Cobourg as one of the assistant captains.
