The 15-year-old – he turns 16 on Dec. 8 – has three assists in 13 games with the nationally-ranked Raiders this season.

“Carson has had a smooth transition into junior hockey,” said Georgetown Head Coach and General Manager Jeff Angelidis. “He has stepped into our locker room and has been an exceptional teammate. For a young man, he has an abundance of confidence and has the inner drive to improve and get better every day.

“The Knights are getting an excellent puck-moving defenceman with a bright future. We are extremely proud of Carson.”

Lloyd is scheduled to remain in Georgetown for the rest of the season but will take part in some practices in London.

The native of Toronto played the 2019-20 season for the North York Rangers U15 AAA team in the GTHL. He was to play for the Kitchener Rangers U16 squad in the COVID-cancelled 2020-21 season.

London selected Lloyd in the third-round (58th overall) in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection

“We are excited to sign Carson,” said Mark Hunter, Co-Owner and General Manager of the Knights.  “He is a skilled offensive defenseman that can move the puck with pace. We are looking forward to having Carson play for the Knights in the near future.”

Lloyd is looking ahead to London while enjoying the ride in Georgetown.

“I am honoured to be signed by the London Knights,” Lloyd told the OJHL. “They are an incredible organization with a rich history and winning tradition and I couldn’t be anymore excited.

“It has been an incredible start to the season with the Raiders, it has been a lot of fun to be around the guys every day and has helped me tremendously with my game. I would like to thank my parents, coaches and teammates for all the help and support they have given me over the years.”

Congratulations to Carson and best of luck in the OJHL and OHL!
