Evan Elliott Taken in 2021 MLB Draft

Date:  Source: Canadian College Baseball Conference

The CCBC continues to produce MLB draft picks in 2021.  Right handed pitcher Evan Elliott was taken in the 15th round, 434th overall, by the Texas Rangers.  The PBA Dawg product who is 6'4, 230lbs might be the best pitcher to come out of PBA.  "Evan is one of the best arms to have pitched at PBA," says Head Coach Todd Hubka, "He checks all the boxes and we wish him all the best on his journey to someday being a big league pitcher"

"We are excited another player from the CCBC was taken in the draft, it shows to the calibre of players that are staying in Canada, developing as student athletes while getting professional opportunities and a world class education." says CCBC President Kevin Kvame.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Elliott never got a chance to see CCBC action but joins a list of players to move from a CCBC program to an MLB team.  In 2020 Willy Diaz, an infielder from PBA signed a non drafted free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins, prior that  in 2019 Okanagan College right handed pitcher Trevor Brigden was taken in 17th round by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Stay tuned as the CCBC releases more information on the 2021-2022 season.
