The Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) are pleased to announce that the program has signed forward Caleb Thompson of the Thorold Blackhawks (GOJHL). Caleb played the 2019-2020 season with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), posting 20 points (9G, 11A) as an under-age player, before joining the Blackhawks this year.

"Caleb is best described as the consummate team player, who brings a versatility to his game that every championship-caliber program needs," said Head Coach Wes Wolfe on the addition of Thompson. "He is a disruptive forechecker who can be trusted to play against the opposition's best players while still contributing offensively. He is tenacious and leads by example on and off the ice, and during the recruiting process made it very clear to our organization how committed he was to being a Cougar."

Earlier this month the Ontario Junior Hockey League announced that the 2021-2022 Regular Season will commence on October 1st. Be sure to follow the Cougars for more information on the upcoming season, as well as ways to get tickets as junior hockey returns to the Cobourg Community Centre.
