The Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) are pleased to announce that the program has signed 2004-born forward Liam Filip to a Standard Player Agreement. Liam is from Grafton, ON and during the 2019-2020 season played for the Vaughan Kings of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), leading the team in points with 19 (9G, 10A) in 32 games.

"There is a winning pedigree that Liam adds to our program that stems from his commitment to winning puck battles and attention to detail defensively," said Head Coach Wes Wolfe on the signing of Filip. "He was an integral part of a championship-winning program in Quinte before joining the Vaughan Kings in his U16 season, where he led his team in scoring and they advanced to the GTHL final. His skating and competitive demeanor make him a threat to create scoring chances every time he is on the ice."
