When the Shreveport Mudbugs and Aberdeen lock horns for the NAHL championship this coming Tuesday night, there will be Elite Edge connections and alumni throughout both rosters and organizations.

Both teams advanced with 2-0 best-of-three series sweeps in their semi-final series.  Aberdeen advanced with 5-1 and 2-1 wins over the Minnesota Magicians while Shreveport beat the Maine Nordiques 4-1 and 5-1 in their two-game set. Both teams will be looking for their second NAHL championship - with Aberdeen winning in 2019 and Shreveport in 2018.

Four Elite Edge alumni will take the ice in the Robertson Cup on Tuesday.  Trevor Russell (2002, Old Hickory, TN - Michigan Tech commit) has six points in 10 playoff games for the Wings, while Michael Reed (2001, Knoxville, TN) had 18 points in 42 regular season games and a +26 rating.  He has one assist in nine playoff games.

Shreveport is led by Elite Edge alumni Braiden Dorfman (2000, Nashville, TN - Dartmouth commit) and his 10 points in 9 playoff games. Dorfman was NAHL South Division MVP this year with 59 points in 55 games played. Defenseman Davis Goulker (2001, Cumming, GA) has been a stalwart on the Mudbugs blueline with 18 points in 54 regular season games and a +24 rating.

Off-the ice both organizations have Elite Edge ties. Aberdeen's director of player personnel is long time Elite Edge coach and Nashville Jr. Predator U18 coach Steve Jennings.  Shreveport general manager Scott Muscutt, head coach Jason Campbell and assistant coach Gavin Morgan have all been long time members of the Elite Edge staff.
