The Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) are pleased to announce the signing of 2004-born defenseman Adam Barone of the Soo Jr. Greyhounds U18.

"Adam is the epitome of the modern defenceman," said Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Wes Wolfe on the signing of Barone. "He is confident, skilled, and intelligent. His ability to make smart plays and join the rush doesn't come at the expense of his defensive game, where he will often break up plays with a good stick and tight gaps. Our staff has been so impressed with Adam's maturity and positive attitude and are really looking forward to the opportunity to work with him.

In 2019-2020 with the Greyhounds, Adam recorded 18 points (5G, 13A) in 33 games. He was selected 6th overall by the Sudbury Wolves in last week's U18 OHL Priority Selection.
