Red River wins the Texas Clash

Red River Hockey Club from Shreveport, Louisiana won the 2020 Texas Division Clash on December 12th. Red River went 3-0 in the clash, with two wins versus the host Dallas Fort Worth Marksmen and one win versus the Austin Arsenal. Red River outscored opponents 27-9 in their 3 games from the Clash, lead by 14 points from Captain Josh Lodatto.

Game 1: 

Red River Hockey Club v DFW Marksmen

Red River took the first game of the Clash in dominant fashion, taking down the Marksmen 7-2. Keith Sullivan lead the way for Red River with 2 goals in the victory.

 

Game 2:

DFW Marksmen v Austin Arsenal

Austin Arsenal defeated the DFW Marksmen in the first battle of the Texas squads at the clash, winning 7-3. Mike McKEnna and Josh Hall had 2 goals apiece for the Arsenal.

 

Game 3:

Austin Arsenal v Red River Hockey Club

Red River came out strong again in their second game, beating Austin Arsenal 9-4. Red River captain Josh Lodatto dominated the game, scoring 4 goals and finishing with 6 points.

 

Semifinals:

(2) Austin Arsenal v (3) DFW Marksmen

The 3rd seeded DFW Marksmen upset the Austin Arsenal in the Texas Division Clash semifinals, winning 7-2. The Marksmen came out much stronger in their second matchup versus the Arsenal behind 2 goals from Harry Sye and Doug McKenna. This win advanced the Marksmen to the Texas Division Clash finals versus the top seeded Red River Hockey Club.

 

Finals:

(1) Red River Hockey Club v (3) DFW Marksmen

Red River dominated the Texas Division Clash finals, defeating the DFW Marksmen for the second time of the day by a score of 11-3. Red River outscored opponents 27-9 in their 3 games in the Clash, with Captain Josh Lodatto leading the way with 14 points. These 3 teams now await the start of the 2021 NBHL season in April, where they will compete in the Texas division.
