“Excited to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at the University of Vermont!” the 17-year-old said on his Twitter account (@tomsinclair26) today. “Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way. #gocatamounts

The Toronto resident had 44 points (18 goals/26 assists) in 46 games during 2019-20 with St. Mike’s – his first full-time season in the OJHL.

“The Buzzers are really happy to see Thomas commit to Vermont,” St. Mike’s head coach and general manager Rich Ricci told the OJHL Thursday. “Thomas has come a long way very quickly. Largely overlooked in his GTHL days because of being undersized, Thomas has now grown into a bonafide pro prospect. At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, this power forward has skill and an exceptional shot release.”

“A great young man and teammate, I expect we will hear a lot more from Thomas in coming years. Congratulations, Thomas, from the St. Michael’s family.”

Before signing with the Buzzers, Sinclair played for St. Michael’s College School and the Mississauga Reps and Rebels organizations.

Congratulations to Thomas and best of luck in the NCAA!

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, has had more than 120 NCAA, U Sports, CHL and professional commitments in 2019-20 – including more than 45 NCAA Division I scholarships.
