KEN DEMING SELECTED AS

ACHA WOMEN’S DIVISION 2 VICE-PRESIDENT

TROY, Mich. (July 22, 2020) – The American Collegiate Hockey Association, the governing body for non-NCAA college hockey in the United States, has selected Ken Deming to serve as Women’s Division 2 Vice-President.  Deming will serve the remainder of the position’s two-year term, which became available when former W2 VP Scott Hicks resigned from the position in May 2020.

Deming is the Head Coach of the University of Delaware Women’s Division 2 team, returning to the Blue Hens after taking the 2019-2020 season off for personal reasons.  Under Coach Deming’s leadership at Delaware from 2015-2019, the Blue Hens made four ACHA W2 National Tournament appearances and appeared in two league championship games.  Further, with Deming at the helm, Delaware was ranked No. 1 in the ACHA W2 Eastern Division in 2017 and was awarded three ACHA Community Service Awards.  Deming has an overall ACHA coaching record of 58 wins, 17 losses, and three 3 ties.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the ACHA,” Deming said. “I look forward to working with the ACHA Executive Board and Staff to continue building the Women’s Division 2 into a competitive hockey environment and putting our student-athletes into positions where they can achieve success.”

Originally from Bellevue, Ohio, Deming attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and played three years for the Crimson Hawks ACHA Division 2 hockey team.  Deming then served six years in the United States Marine Corps and is a Desert Storm Veteran.  Deming is highly involved in Delaware local hockey organizations and holds a Level 4 coaching certification and a Level 3 officiating certification.  Personally, Deming works as a National Account Manager for Singer Equipment, the fifth largest restaurant equipment dealer in the United States.  Deming also serves as the Head Coach of the Philadelphia Little Flyers U19 Elite women’s team. Deming and his family reside in Smyrna, Delaware.
